Tommy Tuberville- Has the man known as "Wingnut" worn out this welcome in the Plains? I don't think so. Auburn has had a horrible season and need a miracle win over Alabama to take away anything positive this year. If the Tigers beat the Bama, he's definitely safe. If he gets smoked by the Tide, things could a little dicey. Tuberville really has no one to blame for this season but himself. I'm not sure why he felt it was so important to bring in a new offensive coordinator to run the spread option offense this year. That turned out to be a total disaster, and wasted an entire season. He needs to go back to what he knows.....Power football...a tough running game....a great defense.....and calling fake punts on your own goal line. Auburn fans have to remember it wasn't that long ago that Auburn went undefeated and I can't remember the last time they've lost in the Iron Bowl.
FINAL VERDICT- He's not going anywhere
Dave Wannstedt- If it was up to me, good ol "Wanny" and his terrible mustache would have been fired long ago. This guy may be the most overrated coach in the history of football. Has he ever succeeded as a Head Coach? The guy may be able to run a defense, but he's e and he'll probably get a contract extension. Considering that it's Wanny....he'll probably go 1not the answer as the head guy. With that said, these last three game of the regular season will probably decide his fate. Cincy, West Virginia, and UCONN are all good enough to beat the Panthers, but if Wanny rallies the troops and wins those 3 games they are going to a BCS bowl gam-2 and be around for another season.
FINAL VERDICT- If he chokes 3 in a row....he's gone, otherwise he's staying
Rich Rodriguez- Not only is Michigan about to finish with the worst record in school history, but Rodriguez isn't endearing himself to fans saying some of them need to "get a life". I believe Rodriguez is a very good coach, but his offense requires a certain type of player which Michigan just doesn't have. Unfortunately, by the time Rich-Rod recruits enough of those guys into the program, it may be too late.
FINAL VERDIC
T- Safe for this year, but if he only wins 2 or 3 games next year, he may be out.
Charlie Weis- Notre Dame is going to a bowl so the only thing that could possibly keep Weis from returning is a loss to Syracuse. As much as this Notre Dame hater would LOVE to see it, I don't see it happening. Next season, his fat butt is directly on the hot seat and nothing short of 8 wins will be acceptable.
FINAL VERDICT- He'll be back baring a loss to the Orange
Butch Davis- He's not going to get fired, but the question is whether or not he's going to stay at NC or decide to take the Tennessee job. I think he's the guy the Vols want, but unfortunately for them Butch already got his huge payday from the Browns ($15 Million) and money is not an issue. The question is does he care about being the shadow of Roy Williams and the basketball team or does he have the ego of man who needs to the be the big coach on campus?
FINAL VERDICT- It is so much easier to win the ACC, so I think he stays at NC
Mike Leach- This guy will probably be the most sought after coach in football at the end of the season. His teams have been good for a while, but it appears he finally has a gre
at team and he's getting the attention he deserved long ago. This guy is a former lawyer and a little out there. Apparently he has some kind of pirate fetish, and truly believes college football should have a 64 team tournament (I hate the BCS too, but give me a break). Putting that aside, the guy has built a great program at one of the toughest places to recruit in the country. From what I hear, there is not a more bland place in the US than Lubbock, yet he still has been able to bring in highly talented players to make his offense work.
FINAL VERDICT- Texas Tech can't play with the big boys when it comes down to stroking a check, so I think he's gone. My guess is he'll end up at Tennessee
