Alabama ranked #4??

As you probably know, I despise the BCS and everything that it stands for. If there is one thing I could change in the sports world, it would be getting rid of this ridiculous system. Here is another nail to go in the BCS coffin.

As I was perusing the standings I took a closer look at the computer rankings that are a component in determining what teams play for the championship. I just about lost my lunch when I read the Kenneth Massey Computer Ratings. I guess I'll start with his website. It looks like a 2nd grader designed this thing. You would think that a poll worthy enough of playing a part in deciding a championship game, could put some time and money in to developing something that looks halfway decent.

The website aside, the poll itself needs some tweaking. Here is how it ranked the top 5 teams.

1) Oklahoma 2) Texas 3) Texas Tech 4) Alabama 5) Utah

This is what happens when you have computers instead of humans rate football teams. How the hell can Alabama be fourth when the haven't lost a game. It would be one thing if they played in the MAC or Big Sky, but it's safe to say the SEC is a pretty decent conference.

I know it's not really going to matter when it's all said and done, but the fact that this flawed poll has anything to do with deciding a championship game just reinforces how much I hate this system.

Dude, the Massey ratings are notorious in women's football...but then again, how would I expect you to know that.
